Job Title: Network Administrator III
Location: Santa Clara, CA 95054, USA
Duration: 2-Month Contract
Rate: $30.00/hr on W2 (No Benefits)
Qualifications
· Associate or Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) from an accredited institution
· Will consider three years of progressive experience in lieu of each year of education
· 4+ years of combined experience in Site Support Technician and/or Infrastructure Technician roles
· Data center experience is required
· Network cabling certifications required:
· Belden Certified Cable Installer
· SYSTIMAX Installation and Maintenance
· Corning Certified Fiber Installer
· Panduit
Technical Experience
· 4+ years in racking, stacking, connecting, and basic configuration of networking/server devices
· 3+ years in data centers, labs, or server room environments
· Experience supporting physical touch (Smart Hands) for incidents and service requests
· Incident support: Replace cabling/hardware with remote Level 2/3 teams
· Service request support: Install hardware/patch cables for new services
· Rack & Stack installations, cable management, fiber/copper patch leads, console access, connectivity testing
Cabling & Hardware Skills
· Copper: Cat5, Cat5e, Cat6, RJ45
· Fiber: Multimode, Single Mode, ST, SC, LC
· Wireless LAN Controllers
· Wireless Access Points
· IP Addressing, Layer 2 VLANs
· Ethernet Switching Hardware:
· Chassis, Supervisor, Line Cards, Power Supplies
· Transceivers: SX, LX, SR, LR
· Fluke Testers (Copper & Fiber)
· Fluke Aircheck (Wireless Testing)
Competencies
· Install cable pathways (ladder, trays, support systems)
· Understand telecom/data/security/wireless cabling terminology
· Read cable matrix blueprints and technical documents
· Perform physical installations/removals of cabling, switches, racks, and network gear
Essential Functions
· Install/service low voltage cabling (Cat5–7, Fiber Optic)
· Material control for daily work completion
· Adhere to quality and safety standards
· Manage ticketed requests within SLA
· Diagnose and repair cabling systems
· Support data center infrastructure landings
Additional Responsibilities
· Receive and validate hardware shipments
· Unbox and recycle materials
· Move equipment to staging areas or racks
· Install/retrofit server racks
· Power/network cable installation and management
· Scan and label devices
· Manage spare part inventory
· Handle e-waste disposal
· Ship/receive equipment
· Escort vendors/technicians
· Complete ServiceNow ticket tasks
Physical & Work Requirements
· Work in hot enclosed environments (e.g., data center hot aisles)
· Use ladders for top-of-rack installations
· Work independently or in teams of 3–4
· Lift up to 35 lbs solo
· Travel between buildings via car/foot
· Walk/sit/stand/crawl/kneel for extended periods
· Excellent customer service and communication skills
· Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Windows 10
· Work in data centers and networking rooms
