Project Executive (Regional Travel) - Mechanical Construction (Mission Critical) - Mid-West

Gryphon Oakwood are retained with an $800M+ mechanical contractor that are seeking a Project Executive to lead several mission critical projects across the Midwest. The role will oversee the successful delivery of large-scale data center projects across multiple sites in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Missouri, working closely with clients, project teams, and field operations throughout the project lifecycle.

The Project Executive will provide senior-level leadership from pre-construction through commissioning, overseeing project strategy, execution, scheduling, and overall performance. This is an opportunity to take ownership of some of the company’s largest and most complex projects while leading and developing high-performing project teams across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead multiple large-scale data center projects from pre-construction through commissioning and closeout.

\n

• Oversee project planning, scheduling, coordination, and day-to-day field operations.

\n

• Lead and develop project teams, ensuring accountability for safety, quality, schedule, and budget.

\n

• Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure successful project execution.

\n

• Identify project risks, resolve challenges, and maintain progress across multiple priorities.

\n

• Provide executive-level oversight while maintaining strong relationships with key project stakeholders.

\n

Qualifications

\n

\n
• Extensive construction project management experience with $50M+ data center and mechanical/HVAC projects.

\n

• Proven track record successfully delivering complex projects from pre-construction through commissioning.

\n

• Strong leadership experience managing and motivating large project and field teams.

\n

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with clients, executives, and field personnel.

\n

• Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.

\n

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and travel regularly to project sites.

\n

Compensation

\n

\n
• $200K–$250K base DOE + bonus, healthcare, 401(k) match, per diem, and vehicle allowance.
