Freelance Project Manager – Data Centre\nLocation: Slough\nContract Type: Freelance / Outside IR35 (subject to assessment)\nProject: New-Build Data Centre (M&E Delivery)\nDuration: 12 months (with potential extension)\nReporting to: Senior Project Manager / Operations Manager\nOverview\nTXM recuit are seeking an experienced Freelance Project Manager to support the delivery of a major new-build mission-critical data centre project in Slough for a sub contractor. The role is focused on managing Mechanical & Electrical packages, coordinating site activities, and ensuring the project is delivered safely, efficiently and to the required technical standards.\nThis is a fast-paced, high-value engineering environment requiring strong leadership, technical capability, and excellent stakeholder communication. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record delivering M&E packages on hyperscale or enterprise data centre projects.\nKey Responsibilities\n * \n Oversee day-to-day management of M&E works on a live data centre construction site.\n * \n Drive project programme, sequencing and short-term planning to meet critical milestones.\n * \n Manage coordination between Mechanical & electrical contactors.\n * \n Work closely with design teams to review drawings, resolve issues and manage design changes.\n * \n Ensure all installations meet the companys and client technical standards, specifications and QA requirements.\n * \n Lead the commissioning and integrated systems testing (IST) process alongside specialist teams.\n * \n Manage subcontractors, supervisors and site teams to ensure efficient and safe site operations.\n * \n Chair site coordination meetings and progress reviews.\n * \n Ensure installation works are properly resourced and materials are available in line with programme.\n * \n Proactively identify and resolve on-site issues, clashes or delays.\n * \n Review RAMS, permits and H&S documentation.\n * \n Ensure compliance with CDM regulations, statutory requirements and project protocols.\nSkills & Experience Required\n * \n Proven experience delivering M&E projects for main contractors or specialist building services contractors.\n * \n Previous data centre experience is essential (hyperscale ).\n * \n Strong technical understanding of electrical distribution, cooling systems, UPS, generators, containment and critical infrastructure.\n * \n Experience working with mission-critical commissioning processes (e.g.

IST Levels 1–5).\n * \n Excellent organisational and programme management skills.\n * \n Demonstrated ability to lead teams in a high-pressure, fast-track environment.\n * \n Strong communication, reporting and stakeholder management abilities.\n * \n Self-motivated, proactive and capable of operating with minimal supervision.\nQualifications\n * \n HNC/HND or degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering ().\n * \n SMSTS or equivalent safety qualification.\n * \n CSCS Manager card.\n * \n First Aid at work\n * \n Commissioning or mission-critical certification (desirable).\n if you ae intersted in this role and would like more information please call chris on (phone number removed) or Click apply
