Subcontract Project Manager – Mechanical Fire Systems (AOVs / Dampers) \n\nContract Type: Subcontract / Outside IR35\n Duration: 6-month rolling contract\n Rate: Competitive day rate (dependent on experience)\n Payment: Weekly pay – every Friday\n Location: London & surrounding areas\n Sites: Data centres and large commercial projects\n\n Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Subcontract Project Manager to manage the delivery of mechanical fire safety systems, including AOVs, fire dampers, smoke control and associated mechanical packages. The role is site-based across London and surrounding regions, primarily on data centre projects, and requires flexibility to travel between sites.\n \nKey Responsibilities\nManage projects from handover through to completion and commissioning\nOversee subcontract installation of AOVs, fire dampers, smoke control and mechanical fire systems\nCoordinate site activities with main contractors, consultants, and other trades\nEnsure works are delivered safely, on programme, and to specification\nManage RAMS, programme updates, and site documentation\nMonitor quality, progress, and compliance with relevant fire and building regulations\nAttend site meetings and provide regular progress reports\nManage snagging, testing, commissioning, and handover documentationRequirements\nProven experience as a Project Manager / Contracts Manager within mechanical fire systems\nStrong knowledge of AOVs, fire dampers, smoke control, or mechanical life-safety systems\nExperience working on data centres or complex commercial projects \nSMSTS or SSSTS (essential)\nAbility to manage multiple sites and travel as required\nStrong communication and coordination skills\nSelf-employed / subcontractor status (Outside IR35)What’s on Offer\nLong-term, stable 6-month rolling subcontract\nCompetitive day rate\nWeekly pay every Friday\nConsistent pipeline of projects across London and surrounding areas\nV7 Recruitment are an equal opportunities employer and are acting as an employment agency in relation to this vacancy\n\nV7 Recruitment is an equal opportunities employer and does not discriminate on the grounds of , , , reassignment, marriage or civil partnership, or maternity, , or belief, , or .
