Position Summary:

The Project Technician supports the successful delivery of client projects by executing assigned technical implementation tasks in accordance with approved project plans. This role focuses on hands-on deployment, installation, and implementation activities under the guidance of Project Engineers, Project Coordinators, and Project Managers.

The project technician helps maintain project momentum by completing technical work accurately, adhering to establish standards, and providing clear communication on task progress and completion.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Project implementation

  • Perform technical tasks within approved project plans and schedules
  • Install and configure hardware, endpoints, and standard software solutions
  • Deployments migrations and project cutover activities

Pass coordination & communication

  • Provide updates on task progress, completion status, and blockers
  • Coordinate daily work activities with Clients, Project Engineers, Project Coordinators, and Project Managers
  • Escalate technical issues or risks impacting timelines

Documentation and standards

  • Maintain accurate documentation related to completed project work
  • Record configuration details and environment changes introduced during implementation
  • Follow established technical standards and deployment procedures

Quality and client experience

  • Validate installations prior to task completion to ensure quality delivery
  • Maintain professional communication while working with clients and internal teams
  • Represent the organization professionally during on site or remote project work

 

Required skills & competencies:

Technical fundamentals

  • Foundational understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and basic VLAN concepts
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 environments, including user setup, device enrollment, the basic administrative tasks
  • Basic knowledge of Azure Active Directory / Space Microsoft Entra ID, including user identities, authentication, and device joint concepts

Systemsand infrastructure Exposure

  • Experience in an installing and supporting endpoints, workstations, laptops, and peripheral devices
  • Familiarity with network hardware installation, including switches, wireless access points, and firewall appliances
  • Understanding of structured cabling and physical infrastructure, including patch panels, rack mounted equipment, cable management

Deploymentand Implementation skills

  • Ability to perform hardware installations and equipment deployment in office or data center environments
  • Experience assisting with workstation rollouts device replacements and user migrations
  • Ability to follow technical implementation plans deployment checklist and engineering plans

Professional & Operational Competencies

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Effective time management and ability to work within scheduled project timelines
  • Clear communication with technical teams and client users at all time
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating within a project team environment

 

Work Environment & Reporting:

Project Technician operates within the Professional Services department on the Project Team and works closely with the Project Managers, Project Coordinators and Project Engineers to support project delivery

This role may involve a combination of remote and on-site client work depending on project requirements. Travel to client locations may be required. Work outside standard business hours may occasionally be necessary to support project implementations or cut-over activities.

  • Assigned project tasks are completed accurately and within scheduled timelines
  • Technical implementations meet established company standards
  • Documentation is completed and maintained for deployed solutions
  • Effective communication is maintained with proper teams regarding status and risks
  • Minimal rework required for implementation activities
