Resource Energy Manager – Global Data Infrastructure Leader

Join a global powerhouse shaping the future of data infrastructure. Our client is one of the world’s fastest-growing operators of high-performance data centres, with a rapidly expanding presence across Asia and Europe. As the organisation accelerates its international growth, they are seeking an experienced Resource Energy Manager to drive the full end-to-end energy strategy across the EMEA region.

This is an opportunity to influence energy procurement, sustainability, efficiency, and regulatory positioning at a regional scale — ensuring the company delivers reliable, cost-effective, and future-ready power solutions for mission-critical facilities.

About the Role

The Energy Supply Leader, EMEA will own the complete energy lifecycle across the region, spanning procurement, contracting, forecasting, billing oversight, energy efficiency, sustainability certifications, and engagement with regulators, utilities, and grid operators.

You will define long-term energy strategies, optimise PUE performance, shape PPAs and hedging programmes, and champion innovation around storage, grid services, and advanced technologies. This is a senior leadership position requiring deep expertise in energy markets and a strong ability to operate across multiple countries and complex regulatory landscapes.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Planning

  • Define and lead the regional energy supply strategy aligned with growth and customer needs.
  • Develop and implement long-term procurement strategies including PPAs, hedging, and grid-service models.
  • Monitor regulatory changes, energy-market dynamics, and fiscal incentives across EMEA.
  • Drive energy-efficiency programmes, including PUE optimisation and integration of electrical and thermal storage systems.
  • Establish frameworks for energy certification, guarantees of origin, and sustainability compliance.

Execution & Delivery

  • Manage the entire energy procurement lifecycle from sourcing to contracting and billing oversight.
  • Lead consumption forecasting, ramp-up planning, and balancing-service cost control.
  • Implement energy-saving initiatives and infrastructure upgrades across data-centre sites.
  • Ensure compliance with tax schemes, incentives, and mechanisms for electro-intensive operations.

Commercial & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain relationships with energy retailers, producers, utilities, grid operators, and regulators.
  • Represent the company in industry and regulatory forums, influencing favourable energy policies.
  • Collaborate with customers on energy planning, sustainability alignment, and cost-efficiency targets.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements related to supply, grid services, and energy optimisation.

Leadership, Organisation & Culture

  • Lead and develop a regional energy team, fostering innovation and accountability.
  • Promote strong cross-functional collaboration across construction, operations, and sustainability teams.
  • Champion a culture of energy excellence, environmental responsibility, and continuous improvement.

Required Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in energy markets, utilities or infrastructure, with 10+ years in leadership roles.
  • Background in data centres, large industrial loads, or mission-critical infrastructure preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of EMEA energy markets, grid-connection processes, and utility frameworks.
  • Proven success managing multi-country energy supply contracts and portfolios.
  • Strong understanding of PUE, energy-efficiency strategies, and energy-storage technologies.
  • Experience with guarantees of origin, energy certifications, and fiscal frameworks including incentives and electro-intensive schemes.
  • Strong commercial acumen in procurement, negotiation, cost modelling, and risk management.
  • Proven engagement experience with utilities, TSOs, regulators, and senior executive stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence at board level.
  • Engineering degree (electrical, energy, or power engineering preferred) or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in hyperscale or colocation data-centre environments.
  • Familiarity with renewable integration, microgrids, and advanced storage solutions.
  • Experience managing P&L or energy budgets across multiple assets.
  • MSc, MBA, or equivalent advanced education beneficial.
  • Strong network across EMEA utilities, regulators, and energy associations.
  • Fluency in English; additional European languages valuable.

Why Apply?

This is a rare opportunity to join one of the fastest-moving companies in the global data-centre sector. You will shape regional energy strategy, influence key regulatory decisions, and drive sustainability and efficiency across mission-critical infrastructure powering the digital economy.
