Sales Manager - Renewable Energy and Data Centers

SUMMARY

The Vertical Sales Leader is responsible for developing and executing a focused sales strategy within assigned industry verticals. This role drives revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, expanding existing customer relationships, and positioning the company as a partner within targeted markets. The ideal candidate combines strong strategic sales leadership with deep industry knowledge and a proven track record of delivering results in a B2B environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a vertical-specific sales strategy aligned with company growth objectives
  • Identify high-value target accounts within assigned industry vertical(s)
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities
  • Achieve or exceed annual sales and revenue targets
  • Expand existing accounts through upselling, cross-selling, and solution-based selling
  • Develop long-term relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and market dynamics within assigned verticals
  • Translate market insights into actionable sales strategies
  • Serve as the internal subject matter expert for assigned verticals
  • Partner with marketing to develop targeted campaigns and messaging for vertical markets
  • Collaborate with product, operations, and customer service teams to ensure successful solution delivery
  • Work closely with executive leadership to align vertical strategy with overall business goals
  • Lead complex sales cycles from prospecting through contract negotiation and close
  • Maintain accurate forecasting, pipeline management, and CRM reporting
  • Provide regular updates on vertical performance, opportunities, and risks

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5–10+ years of progressive B2B sales experience, preferably in a vertical or solution-based sales model
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets
  • Strong understanding of consultative and strategic selling methodologies
  • Experience working with CRM systems (Hubspot)
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Travel required: Up to 40%

Experience

  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, electrical, industrial, or related B2B sectors
  • Prior experience working with cross-functional teams
  • Background in strategic account management or enterprise sales

Compensation & Structure

  • Competitive base salary plus performance-based commission/bonus
  • Car allowance or travel reimbursement (if applicable)
