Job Description
Senior Cloud Network Engineer
\n
\n
Location: Remote (US) | Type: Contract | Duration: 6+ months | Experience: 5+ years | Pay: $75-$85/hr
\n
\n
About the Role
\n
We're hiring a Senior Cloud Network Engineer to design and build the network layer of enterprise AWS environments, from VPC architecture through hybrid connectivity back to on-prem. This is hands-on delivery work: Transit Gateway topologies, Direct Connect circuits, security group and NACL design, flow logging, and the migration plans that move a client's connectivity out of their data center without a cutover weekend anyone will remember for the wrong reasons.
\n
\n
You'll join a cloud services consultancy that moves enterprise and public sector workloads onto AWS and then helps run them. The role sits on the professional services delivery team, working alongside cloud engineers and architects on live client engagements, often more than one at a time.
\n
\n
The client-facing half of this job matters as much as the technical half. You'll be the person explaining to a client's network team why the routing has to change, then proving it works.
\n
\n
What You'll Do
\n
- \n
- Design and deploy VPC architectures: subnets, route tables, network ACLs, security groups, and the documentation that explains why it's built that way
- Stand up Transit Gateway, VPC peering, and other interconnect patterns across multi-account environments
- Implement Direct Connect for hybrid connectivity, then validate that traffic actually flows end to end
- Build migration plans for moving network connectivity and services off on-prem infrastructure and into AWS
- Turn on the visibility layer: VPC flow logs, load balancer logging, and whatever else the client needs to see their traffic
- Use resource tagging and network usage data to support cost analysis and capacity planning
- Advise client network teams on the changes AWS adoption will require on their side
- Diagram and document dev, pre-production, and production environments at the network layer
- Join daily delivery standups, surface technical dependencies early, and keep time entry current

Why Join Us
\n
The delivery team is small enough that your design decisions stick, and the environments are complex enough to stay interesting. You'll work next to cloud engineers and architects who have run a lot of migrations, on clients where the network is the hard part rather than an afterthought.
\n
\n
If you like owning connectivity end to end, from a whiteboard session with a client's network team to a Direct Connect circuit that comes up clean on the first test, this one's worth a look.
