Commercial Refrigeration Service Technician

Job DescriptionJob Description

About Us & Why You’ll Love Working Here We are a rapidly growing, mid-sized commercial refrigeration company servicing the greater Bay Area. We partner with a massive variety of clients—from local mom-and-pop coffee shops and regional restaurants to massive corporate tech campuses and data centers.

What makes us different? We aren't a massive, faceless corporate fleet where quality takes a backseat to volume and technicians are treated like numbers on a dispatch board. We pride ourselves on having a tight-knit, community feel where our senior technicians are trusted with true autonomy. If you are tired of corporate micromanagement, entitled company cultures, and breaking your back on heavy industrial equipment, this is the place for you. We focus strictly on commercial refrigeration—minimal Ammonia or CO2 systems.

The Role: Senior / Lead Technician We are looking for a true heavy-hitter. This is not a mid-level role. We need a seasoned expert who is completely comfortable running solo on complex service calls and acting as the face of the company for our highest-profile accounts. If you are the person other technicians call when they get stuck, you belong here.

What You Will Do:

  • Independently troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair complex commercial refrigeration systems, with a strict focus on walk-in coolers, freezers, and ice machines.
  • Act as the primary technical authority on-site for high-profile clients, delivering elite, white-glove service without the need for a supervisor.
  • Execute advanced electrical and mechanical repairs, system retrofits, and occasional equipment installations.
  • Manage your daily route efficiently across our primary service areas (San Francisco, San Jose, Oakland, the East Bay, and Napa/Marin regions).
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked take-home company van.

What We Are Looking For:

  • The Experience: 5–7+ years of high-level, hands-on experience specifically servicing Commercial Refrigeration systems. (Note: General HVAC experience alone will not qualify. We need a true refrigeration specialist).
  • The Independence: You must be a true Senior/Lead. You do not need a supervisor to hold your hand through complex diagnostics. You can walk onto a VIP site, find the problem, and fix it solo.
  • The Certifications: An active EPA Universal Certification is absolutely mandatory. NATE certification is a major plus.
  • The Technical Chops: Mastery of commercial refrigeration concepts, electrical troubleshooting, system evacuation/recovery, and brazing/welding.
  • The Logistics: A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Must reside within the immediate Bay Area (SF, San Jose, Oakland, Hayward, or the immediate East Bay).

What We Offer:

  • Paid Commute Time: We cover the first hour of your travel every single day to help offset Bay Area traffic.
  • Take-Home Vehicle: Fully stocked, late-model company service van.
  • Elite Earning Potential: Highly competitive senior-level hourly pay with excellent, consistent overtime opportunities.
  • True Autonomy: A stable, mid-sized company culture that values your expertise. We hand you the keys and let you do what you do best—no micromanagement.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Health, Vision, Dental & More. Plus, we are actively expanding and refining our benefits package to support you and your family long-term.
