Lead physical substation design and power-system studies for local clients. Blend office design, analysis, vendor coordination, and limited field/commissioning support. Mentor junior staff and serve in a client-facing capacity.
Key Responsibilities

Produce physical substation designs to code/client specs (layouts, grounding/lightning, AC/DC aux power, conduit/cable tray, BOMs).

Execute studies: short-circuit, relay coordination, grounding/touch-step, load flow, harmonics/arc-flash.

Write equipment specs and support procurement for equipment up to 345 kV; review/integrate vendor drawings and manage deliverables.

Conduct site walks; support construction/commissioning; prepare design/O&M packages; follow QA/QC; mentor less-experienced engineers/designers.
Qualifications

B.S. in Electrical Engineering (or related); 10+ years substation physical design.

Active PE (AL ) or ability to obtain by comity within 3–6 months.

Data center exposure (utility interconnects, on-site substations, N/N+1 reliability).

Strong organization, document management, and client-facing communication; able to manage concurrent deadlines.

SKM/ETAP/EasyPower; CDEGS/SafeGrid; ASPEN OneLiner; PLS-CADD; AutoCAD or MicroStation; Bluebeam; MS Office/SharePoint.
Clients: Local utilities, industrial sites, and mission-critical/data centers
