Senior Electrical Engineer

The Opportunity

A leading engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their expanding Building Services team in London. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse and prestigious portfolio, ranging from high-end residential developments and commercial office spaces to complex mixed-use schemes.

Furthermore, the firm is a key player in the Data Centre sector. While previous experience in mission-critical environments is not a prerequisite, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to upskill in this high-growth area, supported by the firm’s specialist technical leads.

Core Responsibilities

Multisector Design: Lead the electrical design for residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects from RIBA Stages 2 through 5.

Technical Innovation: Develop sustainable design solutions including LV distribution, lighting, and emergency systems.

*

Data Centre Integration: Assist in the delivery of power-intensive projects, learning to navigate the unique redundancies and cooling requirements of data environments.

Project Management: Oversee project delivery timelines and maintain direct communication with blue-chip clients and architects.

*

Guidance: Mentor junior staff and ensure technical excellence across the London-based MEP team.

Candidate Requirements

Education: Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.

*

Experience: Proven track record within a UK Building Services consultancy.

*

Software: Strong proficiency in Amtech (ProDesign) and Revit MEP. Dialux or Relux experience is highly advantageous.

*

Regulations: In-depth knowledge of BS 7671 and UK Building Regulations (Part L, etc.).

*

Adaptability: A strong foundation in traditional building services with a desire to expand into the Data Centre space.
