Senior Electrical Engineer III – High Voltage / Power Systems – $111k to $180k – Pittsburgh, PA

10+ Years Experience | On-Site | No Visa | No Relocation

We are conducting a confidential search for a Senior Electrical Engineer III with deep experience in high-voltage power systems supporting critical infrastructure environments (natural gas, energy, pipelines, compressor stations, data centers, or similar).

Do NOT apply if your background is primarily Controls Engineering. This role is focused on high-voltage power systems — not controls.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Design, implement, and optimize power distribution systems for critical infrastructure
• Develop one-line diagrams, electrical schematics, system layouts, and perform load calculations
• Work with high-voltage equipment including transformers, switchgear, and generators
• Review contractor engineering drawings and deliverables
• Support commissioning, testing, and startup of electrical equipment
• Participate in Pre-FEED, FEED, or EPC projects (small to mid-scale facilities)
• Ensure compliance with NEC, NEMA, API, IEEE, and safety standards
• Implement arc flash mitigation and fault detection improvements
• Support procurement processes and vendor selection for electrical equipment
• Collaborate cross-functionally and lead small technical teams

RequirementsRequired Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited)
• 10+ years of electrical engineering experience
• Experience in power system design, analysis, and simulation (ETAP, MATLAB, PSCAD, Simulink or similar)
• Hands-on experience with high-voltage equipment (transformers, generators, switchgear)
• Experience supporting commissioning and startup of electrical systems
• Familiarity with grid integration and renewable energy systems
• Experience in natural gas, energy, data centers, or related infrastructure
• Strong understanding of U.S. electrical codes and safety standards
• Must be able to work on-site in Pittsburgh, PA
• No visa sponsorship available

• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Experience with PLCs / instrumentation systems
• Project management experience
• Experience in Pre-FEED / FEED / EPC environments
• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
