Position Overview
The Senior Estimator plays a critical role in the pre-construction process by providing accurate and detailed estimates for various projects, including healthcare facilities, laboratories, data centers, and government contracts. This position requires a deep understanding of construction processes and cost analysis to ensure project feasibility and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed cost estimates for mechanical construction projects.
- Analyze project plans and specifications to determine the scope of work.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
- Prepare and present bid proposals to clients and stakeholders.
- Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations for accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain and update historical data for future estimating reference.
- Provide support during the bidding process and negotiate contracts with clients.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an estimator in the construction industry.
- Proven experience in estimating mechanical systems for healthcare, laboratories, data centers, government, and industrial projects.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
