Our client is a Consultancy operating across a range of sectors, including data centres.\n\nThey would like to recruit a permanent Principal Designer to join their thriving London team.\n\nThe role is hybrid with c3 days in their central London offices.\n\nRole:\n\n * To plan, manage and monitor the Pre-Construction phase, to co-ordinate Health & Safety.\n\n * Fulfil the duties of the Principal Designer as defined under CDM 2015 including where necessary carrying out the role of CDM-Advisor to support the client.\n\n * Ensure that multiple team members and duty holders such as the client, designers, contractors and other internal multidisciplinary team members.\n\n * Assist the client in identifying, obtaining and collating the pre-construction information.\n\n * Ensure that designers comply with their duties and co-operate with each other.\n\n * Undertake and co-ordinate safety by design review workshops producing a meaningful Design Risk Assessment in collaboration with the design team. A strong design risk mitigation is essential.\n\n * Attend client meetings during all phases of the project and advise the client and design team on Health & Safety guidelines.\n\n * Guide the Design team and client through Health & Safety requirements and RIBA Stages.\n\n * Review of Principal Contractors information, including:\n\n * Construction Phase Health & Safety plan\n\n * Prepare the Health & Safety file\n\n * Submit F10 on behalf of client\n\n * Undertake CDM site audits on behalf of client Undertake lessons learned workshops\n\n * Undertake audits\n\nExperience:\n\n * At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role with a focus on Construction Design Management.\n\n * Data Centre and/or large scale infrastructure project experience would be but not essential.\n\n * Knowledge of MEP building services would be useful.\n\n * NEBOSH Diploma beneficial.\n\n * Ideally to have experience of appropriate H&S procedures in an engineering consultancy environment in the construction.\n\n * Ideally to have working knowledge and experience of the UK Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and their applicability to design consultants in the built environment.\n\n * Good understanding of British Standards\n\n * Working knowledge of CDM, PUWER, COSHH, LOLER, MHSWR, BSA Regulations
