Senior Project Manager – Global Data Infrastructure Leader

As part of their continued growth in Japan, they are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of small to large-scale projects for major hyperscale and enterprise customers. About the Role
The Senior Project Manager will oversee the full lifecycle of project delivery, from initial planning and tendering through to completion and handover. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and compliance.
This role requires a strategic and commercially minded professional with strong technical understanding of data centre environments and Japanese building standards. You will act as the primary liaison between internal teams, contractors, and clients, ensuring exceptional service and stakeholder alignment throughout each project phase.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end management of data centre projects across Japan, ensuring full alignment with client and company standards.
- Understand and apply Japanese equipment, electrical, and building standards in conjunction with global engineering requirements.
- Liaise with stakeholders to assess needs, develop solutions, and provide expert technical and commercial advice.
- Coordinate with internal teams, designers, and subcontractors to define scope and documentation.
- Manage tender processes, including bid analysis, evaluation, and award recommendations.
- Identify and mitigate statutory, technical, and commercial risks.
- Oversee project budgets, timelines, and quality standards to ensure successful delivery.
- Ensure compliance with all QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety & Environment) policies and procedures.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, and contractors.
- Promote continuous improvement and best practices across all stages of project execution.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Project Management, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in project management within M&E, construction, or critical environments.
- Proven experience managing multiple stakeholders and leading project teams through complex delivery cycles.
- In-depth knowledge of the Japanese construction and supply chain markets.
- Mandatory Japanese Certified Construction Management Engineer License (Electrical or Mechanical).
- Formal project management qualification (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2) desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Japanese and English.
- Strong commercial understanding, with the ability to manage budgets, contracts, and supplier performance.
