Role: Senior Quantity Surveyor \nIndustry: EPC/ Construction and Utility projects\nContract: Full-time, Hybrid\nLocation: England, regular travel across sites\n \n Turner Lovell is looking to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a fast-growing infrastructure engineering contractor delivering critical power, grid connection, data centre, and renewable energy projects across the UK.\n \nAs a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a key role in driving the commercial success of major utility and civil engineering projects, managing everything from tender stage through to final accounts. Working closely with project teams and senior leadership, you'll help maximise value, manage risk, and influence the delivery of critical infrastructure projects while developing your own path towards Commercial Manager level.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\nTake ownership of the commercial management of utility and civil engineering projects throughout the full project lifecycle.\nPrepare, review, and support tender submissions, including pricing strategies, contractual reviews, and commercial evaluations.\nManage payment applications, client valuations, compensation events, variations, and final account settlements.\nBuild productive relationships with subcontractors while leading negotiations on rates, accounts, and contractual changes.\nMonitor project performance through regular cost reporting, forecasting, and commercial reviews.\nEnsure robust commercial processes, documentation, and financial controls are maintained across projects.\nIdentify potential commercial risks and opportunities early and implement effective mitigation strategies.\nWork closely with project delivery teams to achieve both operational and financial objectives.\nProvide commercial guidance and support to colleagues across the business.\nContribute to the development of junior commercial staff through coaching, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.\n \nRequirements:\n\nProven experience in a Quantity Surveying role within the utilities, power, infrastructure, or civil engineering sectors.\nStrong understanding of commercial management across both pre-construction and project delivery phases.\nWorking knowledge of NEC, JCT, and bespoke contract forms.\nExperience managing subcontract accounts, variations, valuations, and final accounts.\nAbility to establish and maintain effective commercial controls and reporting procedures.\nStrong commercial awareness with the confidence to make informed decisions and solve complex challenges.\nExcellent negotiation, stakeholder management, and communication skills.\nProactive and hands-on approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office and commercial management software.\nFull UK driving licence and willingness to travel between project sites as required.\nIf this sounds like your next challenge and you're keen to play a key role in delivering major energy infrastructure projects, please apply or contact Yana Arif.\n \n(url removed)\n(phone number removed)
