Job DescriptionSenior Quantity SurveyorLocation: Hertfordshire / HybridSector: Power, utilities, civil engineering, infrastructureEmployment Type: PermanentClient: Specialist infrastructure contractorTurner Lovell is recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a growing infrastructure contractor delivering critical power, utility and civil engineering projects across the UK.Our client is a specialist contractor working across power, utilities, telecoms, gas and multi-utility infrastructure, supporting major clients with complex civil engineering and energy infrastructure projects. The business has long-term frameworks, a strong commercial function and a growing portfolio of work across the UK utility sector.This is a strong opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor with experience in civil engineering, utilities, power, telecoms or infrastructure contracting to take ownership of commercial performance across multiple projects.The RoleThe Senior Quantity Surveyor will play a key role in the commercial delivery of civil engineering and utility contracts, supporting projects from tender stage through to final account.You will manage subcontractor accounts, valuations, variations, commercial reporting and risk, while working closely with project teams, operational leaders and senior commercial stakeholders.Key DutiesManage commercial performance across civil engineering and utility projectsLead pre-contract and post-contract commercial activityPrepare valuations, applications for payment and final accountsManage subcontractor accounts, payments, variations and negotiationsProduce cost reports, forecasts and CVRsReview contract terms, commercial risks and project opportunitiesSupport tendering, pricing and bid submissionsMaintain accurate commercial records and site-based systemsWork closely with operational teams to protect margin and project performanceMentor junior commercial team members where requiredExperience RequiredExperience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity SurveyorBackground in civil engineering, utilities, power, telecoms or infrastructureStrong knowledge of NEC, JCT or bespoke forms of contractExperience managing projects from tender stage through to final accountStrong subcontractor management and negotiation skillsConfident producing valuations, variations, CVRs and commercial reportsGood commercial awareness and ability to identify risk earlyStrong communication skills with clients, subcontractors and internal teamsProficient in Microsoft Office and commercial reporting toolsFull UK driving licence and access to a car for site travelDesirableExperience within power, energy, telecoms, gas or multi-utility frameworksExperience using Envision or similar commercial systemsHNC, HND, degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or Construction ManagementExperience mentoring junior Quantity SurveyorsRICS membership or working towards chartershipWhy Apply?This is an opportunity to join a growing infrastructure contractor working in one of the UK's most active and resilient sectors.
