About the Position

\n

Avid Systems is seeking an experienced Senior Quickbase Consultant and Application Architect to support the District of Columbia Department of Public Works’ Quickbase application environment.

\n

The successful candidate will provide advanced Quickbase application architecture, development, implementation, and operational support. This role requires extensive experience designing and delivering custom enterprise applications, dashboards, reports, workflows, and data solutions using Quickbase.

\n

The consultant must be able to evaluate business requirements, document operational processes, and translate agency needs into scalable technology solutions. The position requires a combination of technical expertise, consulting leadership, project management, and strong stakeholder communication skills.

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

    \n
  • Design, develop, implement, enhance, and support custom Quickbase applications.
  • \n

  • Evaluate existing Quickbase applications, architecture, workflows, and data structures.
  • \n

  • Build and maintain Quickbase dashboards, reports, forms, tables, relationships, notifications, and automated workflows.
  • \n

  • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements, operational processes, and data flows.
  • \n

  • Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications and implementation plans.
  • \n

  • Develop scalable application architectures supporting web and mobile users.
  • \n

  • Design solutions that support large and complex datasets.
  • \n

  • Integrate Quickbase applications with other enterprise systems, databases, web services, and APIs.
  • \n

  • Research and evaluate technology solutions, tools, and implementation strategies.
  • \n

  • Identify opportunities to streamline operations and improve business processes through automation.
  • \n

  • Lead application planning, architecture, development, testing, deployment, and post-production support.
  • \n

  • Establish project priorities and coordinate activities throughout the complete project lifecycle.
  • \n

  • Troubleshoot business and technical issues independently and develop innovative solutions.
  • \n

  • Create and maintain technical documentation, system architecture diagrams, process flows, user guides, and implementation plans.
  • \n

  • Manage multiple assignments and changing priorities in a rapid application development environment.
  • \n

  • Provide technical leadership and recommendations to agency stakeholders and senior management.
  • \n

  • Support application transition from the current environment to the agency’s desired future-state architecture.
  • \n

  • Promote application security, data quality, scalability, maintainability, and performance.
  • \n

Required Qualifications

\n

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • \n

  • Approximately 20 years of overall information technology or consulting experience.
  • \n

  • At least 16 years of progressive consulting leadership experience providing full lifecycle services within enterprise environments.
  • \n

  • At least 16 years of experience managing, coordinating, and establishing priorities throughout the complete project lifecycle.
  • \n

  • At least 16 years of experience researching and evaluating technology solutions and implementation strategies.
  • \n

  • At least 16 years of experience independently resolving business and technical problems and developing innovative solutions.
  • \n

  • At least **5 years of expert-level experience with data center, cloud, or server architecture design and development.
  • \n

  • Expert-level experience designing and developing Quickbase applications.
  • \n

  • Demonstrated experience creating custom Quickbase applications, dashboards, reports, workflows, and data structures.
  • \n

  • Experience documenting business processes, operational workflows, requirements, and system designs.
  • \n

  • Experience aligning IT strategy and technology planning with organizational business objectives.
  • \n

  • Experience designing scalable application architectures supporting web and mobile users.
  • \n

  • Experience integrating applications with Database-as-a-Service platforms, enterprise databases, APIs, and third-party systems.
  • \n

  • Experience working with large and complex datasets.
  • \n

  • Strong application development, systems analysis, and solution architecture capabilities.
  • \n

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including business-level English.
  • \n

  • Excellent documentation, organizational, planning, and analytical skills.
  • \n

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a cross-functional, rapid application development environment.
  • \n

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to deliver accurate, professional work.
  • \n

  • Demonstrated leadership and stakeholder-management abilities.
  • \n

Qualifications

  • Previous experience delivering Quickbase solutions for government agencies.
  • \n

  • Experience supporting District of Columbia government systems or business operations.
  • \n

  • Experience modernizing legacy applications and transitioning organizations to future-state platforms.
  • \n

  • Experience with application integrations, APIs, cloud services, and enterprise data-management solutions.
  • \n

  • Experience leading both technical and business-facing project activities.
  • \n

  • Quickbase certification or other relevant low-code application-development certification.
  • \n

The ideal candidate is a senior-level consultant who can operate independently while collaborating effectively with business users, technical teams, and executive stakeholders. The individual should be comfortable moving between strategic architecture, hands-on Quickbase development, business-process analysis, project leadership, and production support.
