Position Summary

The Data Center Technician III is primarily a senior server administrator with project ownership responsibilities. Unlike the Technician II role, which focuses on executing technical work and troubleshooting infrastructure issues, the Technician III is expected to own projects, coordinate stakeholders, manage outcomes, and serve as a trusted technical resource. The strongest candidates combine server administration expertise, troubleshooting ability, monitoring and observability experience, leadership skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple teams during incidents and projects. Communication is a heavy component of this role. Candidates must be easy to understand, articulate, and able to communicate effectively with technical teams, stakeholders, and leadership while coordinating work across multiple groups.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own infrastructure projects from planning through completion.
  • Coordinate activities across multiple technical teams and stakeholders.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex infrastructure and server-related issues.
  • Administer and support enterprise server environments.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex production incidents.
  • Analyze logs, alerts, monitoring data, and system events.
  • Support Windows Server and/or Linux environments.
  • Support server provisioning, upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management.
  • Support monitoring and observability platforms.
  • Own assigned systems, applications, or operational responsibilities.
  • Drive issue resolution and ensure technical outcomes are achieved.
  • Mentor junior technicians and provide technical guidance.
  • Communicate effectively with leadership, stakeholders, engineers, and operations teams.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years as a Senior server administrator.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
  • Current hands-on server administration experience.
  • Experience serving as an escalation point.
  • Experience coordinating multiple teams.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience owning projects or technical initiatives.
  • Strong monitoring and observability experience.
  • Experience owning systems, applications, or operational responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and leadership.
