Senior Sustainability Consultant (Whole Life Carbon & Circular Economy)\n\n£50,000 - £70,000+ DOE | Full-time | London (Hybrid)\n\nOverview\n\nOur client is a highly respected building services consultancy with a growing reputation as a leader within the data centre sector. Due to continued growth and increasing demand for sustainability expertise, they are looking to appoint a Senior Sustainability Consultant to take ownership of their Whole Life Carbon (WLC) and Circular Economy (CE) services.\n\nThis is a unique opportunity for an experienced sustainability professional who can not only deliver technical assessments but also help shape and develop the consultancy's sustainability offering alongside senior leadership.\n\nWhile BREEAM experience is beneficial, the primary focus of this role is Whole Life Carbon, embodied carbon analysis, and Circular Economy reporting, particularly in support of London Plan and GLA requirements.\n\nThe successful candidate will play a key role in bringing more sustainability services in-house, reducing reliance on external consultants and establishing best practice processes across the business.\n\nWhy Join?\n\nCompetitive salary depending on experience and technical capability\nHybrid and highly flexible working environment\nMajority remote working with regular collaboration in the London office\nExcellent work-life balance with a relaxed and trusting company culture\nOpportunity to take ownership of a growing sustainability discipline\nStrong progression opportunities as the team continues to expand\nExposure to high-profile projects, including major data centre developments\nJoin an award-winning business recognised as a great place to work\n\nThe Role\n\nThis position is focused on the delivery and development of:\n\nWhole Life Carbon (WLC) Assessments\nCircular Economy Statements\nEmbodied Carbon Analysis\nGLA and London Plan sustainability requirementsWorking closely with senior leadership, you will help build and strengthen the consultancy's internal sustainability capability, developing methodologies, reporting standards and client-facing services.\n\nYou will be responsible for delivering projects from inception through to completion, producing high-quality reports and advising clients on carbon reduction strategies throughout the design process.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nLead the delivery of Whole Life Carbon Assessments across a range of projects\nProduce Circular Economy Statements and associated reporting\nDevelop embodied carbon reduction strategies and recommendations\nSupport compliance with GLA and London Plan sustainability requirements\nWrite and manage technical sustainability reports from initial concept through to submission\nWork collaboratively with engineers, architects and project teams\nHelp develop and expand the consultancy's sustainability service offering\nReduce reliance on external sustainability consultants by delivering services in-house\nSupport business growth through technical excellence and client engagement\n\nRequirements\n\nStrong experience delivering Whole Life Carbon Assessments\nExcellent understanding of embodied carbon principles and carbon reporting methodologies\nExperience producing Circular Economy Statements\nAbility to independently manage projects and deliver high-quality technical reports\nStrong communication and stakeholder management skills\nConsultancy experience within the built environment sector\nUnderstanding of GLA and London Plan sustainability requirements\n\nDesirable\n\nBREEAM Assessor qualification and assessment experience\nExperience working on data centre projects\nKnowledge of TM65 and/or TM64 methodologies\nExperience with MEP-related carbon calculations\nBroader sustainability consultancy experience within complex developments\n\nAbout the Business\n\nThe consultancy is becoming a recognised leader within the data centre market, working with major clients and industry-leading project teams.
