  • Senior Technical Manager Salary: £85,000 + Car + Bonus + Mgmt Benefits.

  • Technical Manager Salary: £75,000 + Car Allowance + Paid Overtime + Mgmt Benefits

A leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management is actively recruiting for multiple critical roles: Senior Technical Manager and Technical Manager to join their Data Centre Operations and Critical Engineering division.

The Role

The successful candidates will demonstrate strong technical leadership with a risk-based approach to operations. Both roles are central to the management and delivery of technical excellence across a campus portfolio of data centres and critical environments.

Working closely with the technical team and reporting to senior leadership, you will be a key point of contact for technical queries, compliance, and high-performance service delivery. Your focus will be on maintaining robust technical standards while ensuring the safety, reliability, and integrity of the site's critical infrastructure.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead technical operations to ensure optimal performance and compliance across all critical services.
  • Act as a technical authority for permits, risk assessments, and method statements.
  • Ensure all personnel under your direction operate safely, professionally, and in line with industry best practices.
  • Conduct investigations and produce reports for any incidents, breaches, or safety concerns.
  • Lead or attend client meetings as the technical representative.
  • Oversee and support the training and development of engineering staff, ensuring competency in all aspects of critical systems.
  • Approve and maintain high standards of technical documentation, including safety programs, switching schedules, SOPs, MOPs, and EOPs.
  • Manage and review site-specific technical training programs.
  • Take part in succession planning through mentoring and upskilling of junior engineers.
  • Act as a Senior Authorised Person (or work towards this designation) for HV/LV systems and confined spaces.
  • Support audit readiness and compliance across critical systems.
  • Provide guidance on technical improvements and drive innovation in operational delivery.
  • Escalate urgent issues and provide technical solutions swiftly and effectively.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in mission-critical environments such as data centres, power , pharmaceutical, manufacturing, nuclear, or military engineering.
  • Ideally electrically biased with a broad understanding of mechanical, air conditioning, and building services systems.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to manage teams and influence across multiple levels.
  • Familiarity with compliance and health & safety frameworks in critical environments.
  • Experience with technical reporting, process creation, and training management.
  • Able to lead and embed a culture of safety, excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Technically confident with a solution-oriented mindset and a focus on risk mitigation.
