Shift Lead - Data Centre (Docklands Area, London)\n\nPermanent | Continental Shifts (12-hour days & nights)\n\nOverview\n\nAn opportunity has arisen for an experienced Shift Lead to join a data centre environment in the Docklands area. The role involves overseeing shift engineers, ensuring smooth site operations, and maintaining critical infrastructure to high standards.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nTechnical & Operational Support\n\nAct as the first point of contact for engineers requiring technical support.\n\nReceive and complete PPM tasks via the site's maintenance management system.\n\nCarry out diagnostic analysis and fault-finding across critical systems.\n\nPerform visual inspections and submit reports on equipment condition or reliability concerns.\n\nComplete all electronic and paper-based records, ensuring accurate and compliant logbook documentation.\n\nMaintenance & Site Standards\n\nEnsure maintenance consumables are stocked and replenished to agreed levels.\n\nExecute general maintenance, housekeeping and plant room cleaning to maximise equipment life.\n\nRespond promptly to client requests and support emergency call-outs when required.\n\nMonitor and report on the performance of subcontractors when applicable.\n\nMaintain plant areas to a clean and tidy standard at all times.\n\nIdentify opportunities for continuous improvement across site operations.\n\nHealth, Safety & Compliance\n\nFollow all Health & Safety safe working procedures and environmental requirements.\n\nReport hazards, omissions, or risks that could impact safe working conditions.\n\nSupport compliance across all site processes and documentation.\n\nAdditional Duties\n\nAssist with breakdowns and corrective works as required.\n\nUndertake any other reasonable tasks assigned by the Supervisor or Contract Manager.\n\nHours of Work\n\n12-hour shifts\n\nContinental shift pattern (days & nights)\n\nBenefits\n\nOvertime opportunities available\n\n21 days annual leave + bank holidays (with option to purchase additional leave)\n\nPension scheme with matched contributions\n\nLife Assurance\n\nPrivate medical cover after qualifying period\n\nFlexible benefits scheme (including wellbeing support, financial guidance, retail discounts, etc.)\n\nCompany sick pay\n\nEmployee recognition and referral programmes\n\nVolunteering day allocation\n\nSmartphone/tablet, uniform and PPE provided\n\nCareer Progression\n\nPotential progression into a Supervisor position.\n\nRequired Qualifications & Experience\n\nElectrical qualifications (Level 3)\n\n18th Edition\n\nHV Authorised Person (HVAP) qualification\n\nExperience working in a data centre environment
