Senior Warehouse Associate

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Warehouse Associate to support daily warehouse operations in a fast-paced building supply distribution environment. This role is responsible for receiving, storing, picking, staging, and shipping materials while ensuring inventory accuracy, on-time deliveries, and exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate is organized, safety-focused, and experienced coordinating materials for commercial construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, unload, and verify inbound shipments.
- Pick, pack, stage, and ship customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks using forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Coordinate daily shipping, receiving, and material staging activities.
- Prepare materials for customer deliveries and commercial construction projects.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and inventory control procedures.
- Verify packing slips, purchase orders, and shipping documentation.
- Work closely with sales, customer service, purchasing, and delivery personnel to ensure timely order fulfillment.
- Assist customers with order pickups and maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse.
- Train and mentor warehouse associates as needed while following all safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Project coordination and project management experience supporting material deliveries for commercial construction projects.
- Experience coordinating with customers, contractors, project managers, and delivery teams to ensure projects remain on schedule.
- 3+ years of warehouse experience in building supply distribution, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, building materials, industrial supplies, roofing, windows & doors, lumber, or related construction products.
- Previous experience as a Senior Warehouse Associate, Warehouse Lead, Shipping & Receiving Associate, or Material Handler.
- Forklift certification (or ability to obtain certification).
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and inventory control.
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to safely lift up to 75 pounds.
