Structural Designer - TEKLA | Steel & Concrete | Ogden, UT

Nexeo HR is assisting with direct‑hire placement for mid‑ and senior‑level Structural Designers supporting a critical large‑scale infrastructure modernization program in Ogden, Utah. This role focuses on complex facility structures involving reinforced concrete, structural steel, seismic detailing, anchor bolts, and BIM modeling using TEKLA. Designers work within multi‑discipline engineering teams to develop full structural design packages for underground and industrial‑style facilities while enjoying a 9/80 schedule (every other Friday off), paid overtime, and relocation assistance.

Responsibilities

Produce structural drawings and detailing for:

• Reinforced concrete

• Structural steel

• Rebar

• Cold‑formed steel

• Anchor bolts

• Seismic detailing

• Model and detail structures using TEKLA

• Work from as‑builts, redlines, and vendor data to create full design packages

• Coordinate daily with engineers and multi‑discipline project teams in a BIM environment

• Review existing site conditions for constructability and accuracy

• Support cost estimates, quantity take‑offs, forecasts, and change orders

• Participate in design reviews and resolve technical comments

• Senior designers will mentor and guide junior designers

Qualifications

• Ability to meet site access and background requirements

• Experience designing facilities (not residential or small commercial buildings)

• Proficiency in TEKLA for steel and reinforced concrete detailing

• Strong knowledge of:

‑ ACI Detailing Manual (SPI‑66)

‑ Steel Construction detailing

‑ BIM modeling practices

• Ability to independently execute detailed designs for complex steel and/or concrete structures

• Experience developing full drawing packages and specifications

• Familiarity working in multi‑discipline engineering environments

• Background in large, complex facilities such as:

‑ Nuclear plants

‑ Data centers

‑ Petrochemical plants

‑ Mining facilities

‑ Large secure or industrial facilities

• High School Diploma with 9–12+ years of experience OR Bachelor’s degree with 1–6+ years of experience

• Real ID‑compliant driver’s license

Highly Desired

• Experience supporting large‑scale regulated infrastructure projects

• Experience with USACE‑style CAD standards (ERDC/ITL TR‑19‑7 or equivalent)

• Experience with Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC)‑type standards and Whole Building Design Guide principles

• Experience reviewing and checking design deliverables (senior levels)

Pay Rate

$95,000 - $130,000 Annually

Schedule

Full Time | 9/80 schedule (every other Friday off)

Paid overtime
