Technical Sales (Cooling)

\n

Location: Austin, TX

About the Role

\n

Delta is seeking a highly motivated Technical Sales (Cooling) to serve as the primary technical interface between customers, internal stakeholders, and Delta's engineering teams. In this customer-facing role, you will work closely with OEM/ODM customers to understand their cooling components and infrastructure requirements, provide expert technical guidance, and support the successful development and deployment of Delta's cooling solutions.

The ideal candidate combines strong engineering expertise with excellent communication and relationship-building skills. You will collaborate closely with account management sales, project manager, and engineering teams across North America and Asia to drive technical discussions, resolve application challenges, and ensure customer success. Your ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value will play a key role in securing and expanding business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

\n

Customer Engagement & Technical Support

\n

  • Serve as the primary technical advisor for customers evaluating and deploying Delta's cooling solutions.
  • \n

  • Develop strong relationships with key OEM/ODM customers and become their trusted technical resource for new opportunities and ongoing projects.
  • \n

  • Gather customer requirements, identify technical challenges, and recommend optimal solutions that align with both customer objectives and Delta's product capabilities.
  • \n

  • Facilitate technical discussions, design reviews, product evaluations, and proof-of-concept activities.
  • \n

Product & Application Engineering

\n

    \n
  • Provide deep technical expertise in air cooling and liquid cooling technologies, including:
  • \n

  • Fans (DC brushless fans and EC fans)
  • \n

  • Heat sink
  • \n

  • Liquid cooling cold plate assembly
  • \n

  • Internal manifold and rack manifold
  • \n

  • Liquid-to-Air (LTA) CDUs
  • \n

  • Liquid-to-Liquid (LTL) CDUs
  • \n

  • CDU critical components like pumps, plate heat exchangers, radiator coils, EC fans, and group control systems
  • \n

  • Stay current on emerging cooling technologies, industry trends, and competitive solutions to support innovation and customer engagement.
  • \n

  • Support product qualification, system integration, troubleshooting, and performance optimization efforts.
  • \n

Cross-Functional Collaboration

\n

    \n
  • Work closely with business units, product groups, engineering teams, and manufacturing factories in Asia and US to support product development and resolve application-related issues.
  • \n

  • Collaborate with account management sales and project managers to align technical solutions with customer needs and business objectives.
  • \n

  • Communicate project status, technical risks, and issue resolution plans to stakeholders at both technical and executive levels.
  • \n

  • Ensure customer expectations are clearly communicated and effectively managed throughout the project lifecycle.
  • \n

Project Execution & Risk Management

\n

  • Identify technical risks, development challenges, and project constraints early in the process and proactively drive resolution.
  • \n

  • Support proposal development, technical documentation, competitive analysis, and customer presentations.
  • \n

  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, project activities, and technical requirements.
  • \n

\n

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality, customer satisfaction, and operational effectiveness.

\n

\n

Minimum Qualifications

\n

    \n
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • \n

  • 5+ years of experience in Thermal Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Cooling, Cooling or HVAC Solutions Engineering, Field Applications Engineering, or related technical roles.
  • \n

  • Demonstrated experience supporting customers in the IT, data center, electronics, or cooling infrastructure industries.
  • \n

  • Strong understanding of thermal management systems and liquid cooling technologies.
  • \n

  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and develop effective customer-focused solutions.
  • \n

  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • \n

Qualifications

\n

    \n
  • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • \n

  • Experience with data center cooling systems, hyperscale infrastructure, AI/HPC cooling environments, or liquid cooling deployments.
  • \n

  • Proven ability to build long-term customer relationships and influence technical decision-making.
  • \n

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both engineering and executive audiences.
  • \n

  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • \n

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • \n

  • Willingness to travel up to 40%, including overnight and oversea travel as required.
  • \n
