ASSYST is seeking for our client in Austin, TX an experienced Telecommunications Manager 2 to lead and oversee Network Services operations in a complex, enterprise environment. This role is responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and security of network infrastructure while providing leadership to cross-functional teams.
Job Title: Telecommunications Manager
Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and oversight of Network Services operations, including WAN, LAN, wireless, SD-WAN, and network security platforms
- Oversee daily operational activities, including incident management, problem resolution, and service availability
- Serve as the escalation point for high-priority network and infrastructure issues
- Coordinate and prioritize workload across Network Services teams, including infrastructure and security-focused functions
- Support ongoing and planned initiatives, including SD-WAN implementation and optimization, network monitoring and observability tools such as ThousandEyes and AppDynamics, and security integrations such as
- Secure Workload, NGFW, and services
- Provide vendor coordination and oversight for network-related services and contracts
- Ensure compliance with security standards, policies, and regulatory requirements
- Participate in change management processes and ensure proper documentation and approvals
- Collaborate with Infrastructure Engineering, Data Center, Telecom, and Security teams to support cross-functional initiatives
- Provide status reporting, risk identification, and mitigation planning to leadership
- Maintain documentation of network architecture, processes, and operational procedures
- Support knowledge transfer and continuity planning for the return of the permanent Network Services Manager
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum 7 years of supervisory or management experience, including providing clear direction to teams, promoting teamwork, and motivating others to accomplish goals
- Minimum 7 years of experience with administration, maintenance, and design of Cisco VoIP solutions
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing a networking team in a highly complex environment
- Proven experience supporting 24x7x365 network, voice, and video environments
