ASSYST is seeking for our client in Austin, TX an experienced Telecommunications Manager 2 to lead and oversee Network Services operations in a complex, enterprise environment. This role is responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and security of network infrastructure while providing leadership to cross-functional teams.

Job Title: Telecommunications Manager
Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and oversight of Network Services operations, including WAN, LAN, wireless, SD-WAN, and network security platforms
  • Oversee daily operational activities, including incident management, problem resolution, and service availability
  • Serve as the escalation point for high-priority network and infrastructure issues
  • Coordinate and prioritize workload across Network Services teams, including infrastructure and security-focused functions
  • Support ongoing and planned initiatives, including SD-WAN implementation and optimization, network monitoring and observability tools such as ThousandEyes and AppDynamics, and security integrations such as
  • Secure Workload, NGFW, and services
  • Provide vendor coordination and oversight for network-related services and contracts
  • Ensure compliance with security standards, policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in change management processes and ensure proper documentation and approvals
  • Collaborate with Infrastructure Engineering, Data Center, Telecom, and Security teams to support cross-functional initiatives
  • Provide status reporting, risk identification, and mitigation planning to leadership
  • Maintain documentation of network architecture, processes, and operational procedures
  • Support knowledge transfer and continuity planning for the return of the permanent Network Services Manager

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7 years of supervisory or management experience, including providing clear direction to teams, promoting teamwork, and motivating others to accomplish goals
  • Minimum 7 years of experience with administration, maintenance, and design of Cisco VoIP solutions
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing a networking team in a highly complex environment
  • Proven experience supporting 24x7x365 network, voice, and video environments
