Traveling Civil Project Manager – Data Center Construction
Location: Abilene, Texas (Travel Required)
Compensation: $120,000 – $185,000 Base Salary + Bonus + Benefits
Per Diem: Provided 7 days per week when assigned more than 60 miles from home/jobsite
Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Traveling Civil Project Manager to lead large-scale site development and infrastructure packages for mission-critical data center projects throughout Texas and surrounding regions. This role will oversee civil construction operations on projects exceeding $100 million in total value, with a primary focus on earthwork, grading, underground utilities, and site development.
The ideal candidate has a strong background managing self-perform and subcontracted civil scopes on large industrial, energy, manufacturing, semiconductor, or data center projects.
Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of civil construction for data center developments from preconstruction through closeout.
- Lead projects valued at $100M+ while maintaining schedule, budget, quality, and safety objectives.
- Oversee large-scale:

- Mass earthwork
- Site grading
- Excavation
- Storm drainage systems
- Water and sanitary sewer installation
- Underground utility construction
- Roadway and paving activities
- Coordinate field operations with superintendents, subcontractors, engineers, and owners.
- Develop and manage project schedules, procurement plans, and cost controls.
- Review drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
- Conduct project meetings and provide executive-level reporting.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Manage project financial performance including forecasting, budgeting, and contract administration.
- Travel to active project sites as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field .
- 7+ years of civil construction project management experience.
- Proven experience managing projects exceeding $100 million.
- Strong knowledge of:
