Traveling Safety Technician – Data Center Project (Abilene, TX)

Location: Abilene, Texas (Travel Required)
Project Type: Data Center Construction (Civil Subcontractor)
Per Diem: Provided (7 days/week)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Traveling Safety Technician to support a data center construction project in Abilene, TX, working for a civil subcontractor. This role is responsible for promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations, and assisting in the implementation of site-specific safety programs.

Candidates must currently reside in Texas to be considered for this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor daily job site activities to ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments
  • Assist with incident investigations and prepare detailed reports
  • Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and orientations
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and enforce safety standards on-site
  • Maintain accurate safety documentation and records
  • Collaborate with site management and subcontractor crews to proactively address safety concerns

Requirements

  • OSHA 30 Certification (required)
  • Minimum of 3 years of safety experience in construction or industrial environments (data center experience )
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety best practices
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Willingness to travel and work on-site in Abilene, TX
  • Must reside in Texas to be considered

Qualifications

  • Experience working with civil scopes (earthwork, utilities, concrete)
  • Experience on large-scale or mission-critical construction projects
  • First Aid/CPR certification
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
