Senior Traveling Civil Superintendent – Data Center Construction

Location: West Texas – Projects in Sweetwater, Claude, Abilene, Amarillo & Childress, TX
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary: $130,000 – $180,000 annually (DOE)

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Traveling Civil Superintendent to lead field operations on large-scale heavy civil and site development projects supporting data center construction throughout West Texas.

This is a civil-focused leadership position. The ideal candidate will have a strong background managing complex heavy civil scopes, including mass grading, earthwork, excavation, underground utilities, storm drainage, water, sanitary sewer, concrete, and overall site development.

The Senior Civil Superintendent will take ownership of field operations, production, manpower, subcontractor coordination, scheduling, safety, and quality. Candidates should be comfortable leading large field teams and coordinating multiple civil scopes simultaneously on large-scale projects.

We are only considering candidates currently located in Texas, Oklahoma, or New Mexico.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level leadership and oversight of heavy civil construction operations.
• Manage daily field activities across large-scale site development projects.
• Oversee mass grading, earthwork, excavation, underground utilities, storm drainage, water, sanitary sewer, and site infrastructure.
• Lead and mentor Superintendents, Foremen, operators, laborers, and other field personnel.
• Coordinate multiple civil subcontractors, crews, equipment, materials, and manpower.
• Develop and maintain daily and weekly plans to drive production and meet project milestones.
• Monitor project productivity, quality, manpower, equipment utilization, and schedule performance.
• Read and interpret civil plans, specifications, schedules, and project documents.
• Identify constructability issues and field conflicts and work with project leadership to develop solutions.
• Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, owners, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors.
• Conduct daily planning and coordination meetings with field teams and subcontractors.
• Maintain accurate daily reports, production reports, manpower tracking, and project documentation.
• Ensure all civil work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications.
• Enforce OSHA requirements and company safety standards across the jobsite.
• Help drive a strong culture of accountability, production, quality, and safety.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as a Civil Superintendent, Senior Civil Superintendent, General Superintendent, or similar senior field leadership role.
• Extensive heavy civil construction experience is required.
• Strong background in large-scale site development and civil infrastructure.
• Experience managing complex civil scopes from mobilization through completion.
• Strong experience with:

  • Large-scale civil infrastructure
• Experience leading large field crews and multiple subcontractors.
• Strong understanding of civil construction sequencing, scheduling, production, and field coordination.
• Ability to read and interpret civil construction drawings and specifications.
• Data center or other mission-critical experience strongly .
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• OSHA 30 certification .
• Must currently reside in Texas, Oklahoma, or New Mexico.

Compensation & Benefits

• $130,000 – $180,000 annual salary, depending on experience.
• Per diem provided 7 days per week for employees residing more than 60 miles from the active jobsite.

Schedule & Travel

• Monday – Saturday
• Overtime as project demands require.
• Extensive travel throughout West Texas.
• Current project locations include Sweetwater, Claude, Abilene, Amarillo, and Childress, Texas.
• Candidates must currently be located in Texas, Oklahoma, or New Mexico.
• Candidates must be comfortable traveling to active project locations throughout West Texas.
