Underground Utility Project Manager – Wet Utilities (Data Center Construction)
Location: Denver Metro
Base Salary: $130,000–$185,000
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Underground Utility Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of wet utility infrastructure for a large-scale data center project in the Denver, Colorado area. This is a full-time, on-site leadership role responsible for managing projects valued up to $20 million, ensuring they are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience managing wet utility construction projects, including water, sanitary sewer, and storm drainage systems, with a proven track record delivering complex heavy civil infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage wet utility construction projects from preconstruction through project closeout.
- Lead projects valued up to $20 million.
- Oversee installation of water mains, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, drainage structures, and associated underground infrastructure.
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and forecasts.
- Coordinate with owners, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, and utility agencies.
- Manage project financial performance, including cost control, change orders, and monthly forecasting.
- Review plans, specifications, contracts, and shop drawings.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and all applicable safety regulations.
- Lead project meetings and maintain strong client relationships.
- Resolve field issues and provide leadership to project engineers, superintendents, and field personnel.
- Oversee subcontractor performance and project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, and closeout packages.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field .
- 7+ years of project management experience in wet utility or heavy civil construction.
- Proven experience managing underground utility projects valued up to $20 million.
- Experience delivering water, sanitary sewer, and storm drainage infrastructure projects.
- Data center, industrial, or mission-critical construction experience is highly .
- Proficiency with Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
- Strong knowledge of project budgeting, scheduling, and contract administration.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work full-time on-site in Denver, Colorado.
Qualifications
- Experience supporting large-scale data center site development.
- Knowledge of Colorado utility standards, permitting, and municipal requirements.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- PMP certification or PE license is a plus.
