Budget Analyst

Our client, a global leader in high-performance data centre development and operations, is seeking a detail-oriented Budget Analyst to support financial planning and resource management across international projects. This role is key to ensuring accurate budget preparation, monitoring, and reporting within one of the world’s fastest-growing industries.

 

The Role

The Budget Analyst will assist in the development and management of budgets across the organisation, working closely with department managers to align financial planning with operational needs. Responsibilities include preparing detailed reports, analysing variances, tracking performance, and providing recommendations for adjustments. The successful candidate will also support the creation of budget policies, tools, and procedures to enhance efficiency and compliance.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing annual budgets, gathering data, and developing budget models.
  • Monitor performance, analyse variances, and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Partner with department managers to support budget planning and management.
  • Analyse financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Maintain budget tracking systems and databases.
  • Support the development and implementation of budget policies and procedures.
  • Review and approve requests to ensure compliance with budget guidelines.
  • Provide financial analysis for projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Assist in budget transfers and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) for project tracking.

 

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in budget or financial analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software; SAP S/4HANA experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and budget management techniques.
  • Highly detail-oriented, organised, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Accounting certifications (CPA, CA, ACCA) preferred.
