Key Responsibilities\n
As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Thrive and Strive, your responsibilities will include:

- Conducting thorough preliminary interviews and maintaining detailed documentation from the initial consultation through the entire course of treatment.
- Evaluating and assessing clients’ mental, behavioral, and emotional health to formulate accurate diagnoses and effective treatment strategies.
- Developing customized intervention and recovery plans for a diverse clientele, which may include individuals, couples, families, and group therapy participants.
- Facilitating engaging and supportive individual and group therapy sessions, focusing on evidence-based practices that promote healing.
- Continuously monitoring and documenting clients' progress throughout their treatment, adjusting plans as necessary to optimize outcomes.
- Collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team of mental health specialists, physicians, nurses, and social workers to create cohesive intervention plans.
- Providing follow-up care by liaising with psychiatrists and attending physicians for clients requiring hospitalization or specialized services.
- Identifying potential obstacles to recovery, implementing proactive strategies to prevent setbacks in clients’ progress.
- Offering guidance and support to family members and caregivers as they navigate the complexities of managing mental and behavioral challenges.

Qualifications\n
The ideal candidate will possess:

- A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
- Current, valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Texas.
- A passing score on the Counselor Exam (NCE) and/or the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Exam (NCMHCE).
- Demonstrated experience as a mental health counselor, showcasing clinical insight and knowledge.
- Proficient use of electronic health record systems such as AVATAR.
- Familiarity with various underlying physical and emotional health conditions, addiction disorders, and the impacts of medications often prescribed by medical professionals.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, along with strong interpersonal abilities to foster connections with clients and colleagues.
