Data Centre Technician

A global leader in data centre and critical environment services is seeking a motivated and technically capable Data Centre Technician to join its operations team in Enfield. This shift-based role offers the opportunity to work with some of the most sophisticated electrical and HVAC systems in the industry, within a dynamic and business-critical environment.

 

The Role

The Data Centre Technician will play a key role in ensuring the continuous operation and reliability of critical infrastructure. Working as part of a highly skilled team, the successful candidate will be trained in the operation and maintenance of advanced electrical, mechanical, and monitoring systems, supporting the delivery of world-class standards in data centre management.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain critical facility systems, including electrical, mechanical, BMS, EPMS, and fire systems.
  • Perform preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance on high-availability power and mechanical systems.
  • Support the development and execution of site-specific procedures (SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, drills).
  • Ensure subcontractors are inducted, supervised, and compliant with safety and operational requirements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, reporting, and record-keeping for statutory compliance.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies, including hazard reporting and incident escalation processes.

 

Candidate Profile

  • Recognised trade qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or working towards).
  • Experience in facilities management or site-based roles, ideally within a critical environment.
  • Basic knowledge of LV power distribution and building services.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and contractors.
  • Computer literate, with the ability to prepare reports and monitor system performance.
  • Highly motivated with a proactive, “can do” attitude and strong willingness to learn.
  • Organised, detail-oriented, and capable of prioritising effectively in a high-pressure environment.
