Position: Data Center Technician (Server and Hardware)
Location: Springfield, OH
Duration: Longterm
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Data Center Technician to support our data center operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining hardware, supporting infrastructure, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations within the data center.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot servers and network equipment
- Monitor data center systems and respond to alerts and incidents
- Perform regular hardware maintenance and upgrades
- Document procedures, configurations, and issues
- Coordinate with internal teams and vendors for support and escalation
- Maintain physical security and environmental controls (power, cooling, cabling)
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field )
- 1–2 years of experience in a data center or IT support role
- Basic understanding of networking, server hardware, and operating systems
- Ability to lift and move equipment (up to 50 lbs) as needed
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
- Availability for shift work, on-call support, and occasional weekends
Skills:
- Experience with ticketing systems and data center monitoring tools
- Familiarity with structured cabling standards and best practices
