They are 100% CLIENT Focused.\n\nAs the MEP Design Manager you will be responsible for managing the design, coordination, and delivery of all mechanical, electrical, and public health (MEP) systems on MAJOR Data Centre Projects worth £40-250 Million.\n\nYou will be expected to make an impact whether that's bidding on a major project, sitting on a live project or handling 2 smaller but equally as testing scopes. The energy, attitude and focus from the owners to the Senior Leadership team is simply infectious.\n\nIf you have the same energy, drive and pride in your work this could be a dangerously successful combination!\n\nThis role ensures that highly resilient, energy-efficient, and compliant systems are delivered in line with program, cost, and operational requirements. You will act as the key interface between consultants, subcontractors, and construction teams, ensuring designs meet mission-critical uptime standards.\n\nKey Responsibilities / Design Leadership\n\nManage MEP design from concept through to commissioning and handover.\n\nOversee design of critical systems including:\n\n * LV/MV electrical distribution\n\n * UPS systems and battery storage\n\n * Backup (diesel generators)\n\n * Cooling systems (CRAC/CRAH, chillers, liquid cooling where applicable)\n\n * BMS and controls\n\n * Fire detection and suppression systems\n\n * Ensure compliance with Uptime Institute Tier standards (Tier II–IV) where applicable.\n\n * Coordination & interface with CSA teams\n\n * Manage design, drawings & specifications\n\n * Working with specialist vendors (e.g., UPS, generators, cooling OEMs)\n\n * Proactively manage & promote BIM / Clash detection\n\n * Support procurement of key MEP packages:\n\n * Electrical and mechanical subcontractors\n\n * Specialist suppliers (UPS, chillers, generators)\n\nReview subcontractor designs and ensure alignment with employer’s requirements.\n\n * Assess technical submissions during tender stage.\n\n * Provide technical support during installation.\n\n * Lead or support commissioning strategy\n\n * Ensure compliance with: UK Building Regulations/ BSI standards (BS/EN)/ CIBSE guidelines / Uptime Institute Tier classifications\n\nKey Skills & Experience Essential\n\n * Degree in Building Services Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering / A clear background that shows loyalty , training & success\n\n * Proven experience for a MEP Sub-Contractor or main contractor in a or D&B environment.\n\nSoftware Skills Needed\n\nBIM tools (Revit, Navisworks)\n\nLoad calculation and simulation tools\n\nMicrosoft Office (Excel for technical/commercial analysis)\n\nWhat We Offer\n\nBasic Salary range of £(phone number removed)\n\nUp to 10 % Car allowance\n\nBusiness related travel paid\n\nIf you need to stay over fully expensed apartment or Hotel will be provided\n\nCompetitive Pension & BONUS Scheme\n\nPerformance Review\n\nOpportunities for career development and RAPID progression
