Electrical Associate Director - Data Centre's\n\nWe are seeking an accomplished Electrical Associate Director with deep expertise in data centre design to provide strategic, technical and operational leadership across mission-critical engineering projects. This position requires an individual with proven experience delivering electrical systems for hyperscale, colocation and enterprise data centres, alongside strong leadership and commercial skills.\n\nAs an Electrical Associate Director, you will guide multidisciplinary teams, manage high-value programmes, and ensure all electrical design outputs meet the highest standards of resilience, availability and efficiency demanded by today’s data centre industry.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nAs an Electrical Associate Director, your responsibilities will include:\n\nTechnical & Project Delivery\n\nLeading the electrical design lifecycle across Tier II–IV data centres, including HV/LV distribution, UPS systems, standby , switchgear, earthing, lighting and protection systems.\n\t\nDeveloping resilient electrical infrastructure solutions aligned with N+1, N+N and 2N redundancy requirements.\n\t\nEnsuring all designs meet Uptime Institute standards, local regulations, client specifications and international best practice.\n\t\nOverseeing short-circuit studies, load flow analysis, discrimination studies and power quality assessments.\n\t\nReviewing and validating electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, equipment schedules and system integration.\n\t\nProviding expert guidance on energy efficiency strategies, renewable integration and sustainability targets.\n\nLeadership & Management\n\nManaging and mentoring electrical engineering teams to deliver consistently high standards of performance.\n\t\nPromoting best practice and technical excellence across the electrical discipline.\n\t\nCoordinating with mechanical, architectural, structural and commissioning specialists to deliver holistic design solutions.\n\t\nSupporting the development of training programmes, competency frameworks and staff progression plans.\n\nCommercial & Strategic Responsibilities\n\nContributing to sector strategy, business planning and annual growth targets within the data-centre market.\n\t\nSupporting bid submissions, proposals and technical narratives for new opportunities.\n\t\nManaging project budgets, profitability and commercial performance.\n\t\nBuilding long-term relationships with hyperscale clients, developers, contractors and major data-centre operators.\n\nOperational Excellence\n\nEnsuring robust QA/QC processes tailored specifically to mission-critical electrical infrastructure.\n\t\nLeading design reviews, risk workshops, reliability studies and commissioning readiness activities.\n\t\nOverseeing efficient resource planning and ensuring all deliverables meet deadlines and project milestones.\n\t\nMaintaining a strong understanding of emerging technologies and trends within the data-centre electrical design space.\n\nSkills, Qualifications & Experience\n\nThe ideal Electrical Associate Director will bring:\n\nChartered Engineer status (CEng) or equivalent.\n\t\nExtensive experience delivering electrical design for data centres or other mission-critical facilities.\n\t\nDeep technical expertise in HV/LV systems, UPS technology, generator systems, busbar distribution, protection coordination and power system modelling.\n\t\nStrong understanding of international design standards, including IEC, BS, EN and Uptime Institute guidelines.\n\t\nDemonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and manage large-scale technical programmes.\n\t\nStrong commercial awareness and confidence working with contracts, bids and financial performance metrics.\n\t\nExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.\n\nWorkplace Values\n\nThe Electrical Associate Director is expected to champion:\n\nIntegrity: Fair, respectful and transparent decision-making.\n\t\nAccountability: Ownership of outcomes and responsibilities.\n\t\nSimplicity: Clear, efficient and practical approaches.\n\t\nSupportiveness: Inclusive, collaborative and people-focused leadership.\n\t\nQuality: Precision and excellence in all technical outputs
