Our client, a leading provider of mission-critical data centre services, is seeking an Electrical Shift Engineer to join their operations team at a state-of-the-art campus in Longcross. The Role
The Electrical Shift Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems within a critical environment. This includes undertaking planned preventative maintenance (PPM), fault diagnosis and rectification, as well as supporting reactive and emergency works to maintain resilience and compliance at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain electrical systems in line with industry codes of practice and site requirements.
- Deliver planned maintenance activities to a high standard and within agreed timescales.
- Support the installation and modification of site electrical systems.
- Maintain effective communication with supervisors and ensure accurate reporting through the PPM system.
- Ensure plant rooms, workshops, and storage areas are maintained to the highest housekeeping standards.
- Operate and support key systems including: LV/HV electrical installations, Emergency lighting and lighting controls, Building Management Systems (BMS), UPS, generators, and controls, Fire detection and suppression systems and HVAC systems (AHUs, VAVs, FCUs, split systems, and variable speed drives)
Candidate Profile
- C&G Level 1 & 2 (or equivalent) in electrical services/maintenance.
- 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations.
- Previous experience within building services or critical environments.
- HV Authorised Person (desirable but not essential).
- Strong technical understanding of UPS, generators, refrigeration, water treatment, and air conditioning.
- Recognised apprenticeship or equivalent technical training.
