An industry-leading provider of data centre services is seeking a skilled BMS Engineer to join their specialist team. This role is integral to ensuring optimal performance and resilience of Building Management and Environmental Monitoring Systems (BMS & EMS) across two high-profile data centre sites.

The Role

As a BMS Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, calibrating, and supporting building management systems that interface with mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration infrastructure. You will play a key part in delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM), managing reactive and breakdown works, and ensuring systems operate safely, reliably, and in full compliance with health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out all scheduled PPM tasks across BMS & EMS systems, ensuring adherence to site task schedules and asset lists.
  • Deliver reactive and corrective maintenance, swiftly resolving plant faults and defects.
  • Conduct calibration of BMS systems and sensors, maintaining full serviceability.
  • Ensure adequate spares are available; provide parts lists and time estimates for remedial works.
  • Prepare and implement Method Statements and Risk Assessments for all works.
  • Supervise subcontractors on site, ensuring compliance with contractual and safety requirements.
  • Operate the Permit to Work system in line with company and client procedures.
  • Support a safe, professional, and compliant workplace culture, ensuring PPE and standards are followed at all times.

Candidate Profile

  • Recognised electrical engineering qualifications (City & Guilds, BTEC, ONC, or equivalent), ideally supported by a mechanical/electrical apprenticeship or significant relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of BMS/EMS systems and their interface with M&E and refrigeration equipment.
  • Multi-skilled background with working knowledge of UPS, generators, power distribution, and HVAC systems.
  • Proven experience within a data centre or other critical environment.
  • Strong commitment to health, safety, and compliance

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation at the forefront of data centre and critical facilities management. The role offers exposure to cutting-edge technology, a collaborative environment, and opportunities to grow your technical and professional expertise across multiple sites.
