Position Summary
The Equipment Asset Manager will be responsible for developing and executing enterprise-wide asset management strategies that maximize equipment reliability, utilization, safety, and return on investment. This individual will partner closely with plant leadership, maintenance teams, engineering, operations, finance, and procurement to ensure critical manufacturing assets are properly maintained, tracked, upgraded, and replaced.
This role will be based onsite in Pocatello, Idaho, with regular travel to Virginia Transformer and AK Power Solutions manufacturing facilities to evaluate asset performance, standardize best practices, and support capital planning initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive equipment asset management program across multiple manufacturing facilities.
- Create and maintain enterprise-wide asset inventories, equipment hierarchies, and lifecycle records.
- Establish asset reliability, utilization, maintenance, and replacement metrics.
- Lead equipment lifecycle planning from acquisition through retirement.
- Partner with Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering teams to improve asset performance and uptime.
- Conduct facility audits and equipment assessments to identify reliability risks and improvement opportunities.
- Analyze equipment performance data and recommend capital investments, upgrades, refurbishments, or replacements.
- Develop long-term capital expenditure (CAPEX) plans and asset replacement strategies.
- Standardize asset management processes, maintenance practices, and reporting across facilities.
- Collaborate with Finance to evaluate asset depreciation, ROI, total cost of ownership, and budget forecasting.
- Support implementation and optimization of CMMS/EAM systems.
- Establish critical spare parts strategies and inventory optimization programs.
- Lead root cause investigations related to major equipment failures.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare executive-level reports and presentations regarding asset health, risk, and capital planning.
- Travel to manufacturing facilities as needed to support audits, project execution, and asset reviews.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Asset Management, Maintenance Management, or related discipline.
- 7+ years of experience in equipment asset management, maintenance management, reliability engineering, manufacturing engineering, or related field.
- Experience supporting large-scale industrial manufacturing environments.
- Strong understanding of asset lifecycle management principles.
- Experience developing CAPEX plans and asset replacement strategies.
- Knowledge of preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance methodologies.
- Experience utilizing CMMS or Enterprise Asset Management systems.
- Strong analytical and financial acumen.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel up to 40%.
- Experience in transformer manufacturing, electrical equipment manufacturing, heavy industrial manufacturing, metals, power generation, utilities, or related industries.
- Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP), Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE), or similar certification.
- Experience with SAP PM, Maximo, Infor EAM, or similar asset management platforms.
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement experience.
- Experience managing multi-site asset management programs.
