Summary/Objective:
The HVAC Services Technician 3 is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining heating, cooling, ventilation and related systems. This position leads, trains, and mentors' helpers, apprentices and technicians; requires no direct supervision.
Essential Functions:

- Ability to oversee job site.
- Expert knowledge of the refrigeration cycle to include: identifying components in refrigeration circuit, understanding how each component works, troubleshoots; uses manifold gauge set, and temperature measuring devices for routine maintenance; understands refrigeration recovery, evacuation and charging.
- Expert knowledge of electron theory, how electricity travels, AC and DC currents, single phase and three phase circuits, and series and parallel circuits; ability to read complex wiring diagrams; understanding of Ohms Law; ability to use multi-meters to read voltage, current and resistance values; must be able to troubleshoot complex electrical circuits.
- Provide both planned and emergency response diagnostic and repair services on commercial grade heating, ventilating, and air conditional systems.
- Perform proactive preventive maintenance on equipment and systems; recommends proactive repair solutions.
- Expert knowledge of the heating cycle to include: identifying components in heating system, understanding how each component works, diagnosing problems in the heating system using a gas pressure test and other devices for routine maintenance and to troubleshoot; understands the theory of combustion and how it relates to combustible fuels such as gas and oil.
- Must be competent in soldering and brazing.
- Responsible for maintaining a high level of professionalism with clients, vendors and colleagues; works to establish a positive working relationship.
- Provide timely and complete documentation of work performed.
- Drives company vehicle throughout service area while following all local laws.
- Operates vehicles and other equipment safely; adheres to safety protocols; reports hazards and risks; behavior contributes to a safe and secure working environment.

Work Environment:
This job operates in a field environment; it involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and extreme temperatures. Work is often required after normal working hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs/ladders; pushing/pulling; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move equipment up to 50 pounds.
Position Type:

Required Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 8+ years' experience in the trades
- Master's license or equivalent HVAC training and experience
- CFC/EPA Universal
Education and Experience:
- Experience w/Mission Critical Mechanicals
- Manufacture training with Mission Critical equipment - Stulz, APC, Liebert, etc...
