Okonite is hiring an Industrial Engineer for our Richmond KY Location
Okonite is an Employee Owned company in its 147th year of history. We are manufacturers primarily of medium voltage electrical cable. INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER – Dynamic individual with key areas of responsibility to include:
· Process Improvements & Troubleshooting Aids
· Developing Process Specifications and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
· Conduct time studies and performance capability assessments.
· Create and maintain Direct Labor Cost Standards
· Champion Plant Utilization and Productivity Program - Identify areas of efficiency opportunities and assist in improvement initiatives
· Lean Coordinator Role championing efforts in 6S
· Investigate & reduce Cost Variances
· Coordinate Plant Cost Reduction Program.
· Justify, prepare, submit and track Capital Expenditures.
· Collaborate with outside vendors to support a variety of projects/plant needs
· Other Productivity/Plant Projects as required.
Requirements include a BS Engineering degree (IE, ME, or Mfg. Eng. ) with minimum 1+ year relevant experience in a manufacturing environment. Recent graduates with strong Co-Op/ will be considered.
Results oriented position requires significant shop floor presence performing studies and project work. The ideal candidate will have experience in LEAN manufacturing techniques, time study methods, and an aptitude towards problem solving. Candidates will also be expected to possess the following skills:
· Strong mastery of Excel.
· AutoCad / Some Solid Works
· Stopwatch and / or Video techniques to perform Time Studies.
This is a highly visible position requiring strong initiative, good communication skills, and the ability to work with a variety of other roles. Direct interaction with and training of workforce will be required. A successful candidate will possess the strong desire and drive to be a Champion over various programs and provide status and solutions to Executive Management.
