This role is ideal for a technically strong, proactive engineer who can lead maintenance activities across both critical environments (including data centres) and general office facilities.\n \nYou will play a key role in ensuring operational reliability, statutory compliance and a safe working environment, while providing leadership and technical guidance to the wider engineering team.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nLeadership & Operations\n\nManage your own workload and allocate tasks to engineering team members.\nOversee maintenance delivery costs (self‑perform and specialist contractors).\nEnsure critical services (e.g., computer rooms, networks, revenue‑earning systems) meet SLA and operational requirements.\nProvide emergency response, standby and call‑out support as needed.\nPrepare technical reports and lead on operational reviews.\n\nTechnical & Compliance\n\nOperate change control processes for business‑critical environments.\nMaintain and update dilapidation plans relating to critical systems.\nPlan and oversee statutory compliance testing and produce audit reports.\nEnsure all PPM and Critical PPM activities are completed to schedule.\nMaintain accurate engineering documentation and maintenance records.\nMonitor environmental and utility performance, analysing critical equipment loading and conditions.\n\nHealth, Safety & Risk Management\n\nWork in line with CBRE H&S procedures, using permit‑to‑work systems where applicable.\nLiaise with CBRE EHS specialists to ensure audit compliance.\nIdentify and escalate urgent issues, risks or performance concerns.\nSupport cost‑effective procurement strategies for engineering services.\n\nSkills & Experience\n\nEssential\n\nRecognised electrical qualification (Apprenticeship, HND, City & Guilds).\n18th Edition Electrical Wiring Regulations.\nStrong experience managing engineering services in commercial environments.\nExcellent supplier and contractor management skills.\nStrong communication skills across all levels.\nCompetent in MS Office and building documentation systems.\nKnowledge of emergency response protocols and utilities monitoring.\nIOSH or equivalent Health & Safety training.\n\nDesirable\n\nExperience in data centre or critical environment operations.\nUnderstanding of water hygiene regulations (L8).\nBMS, HVAC and critical cooling system experience.\nOperational experience with UPS and standby power systems.\nExperience managing Environmental, Health & Safety and Quality Systems.\n\nWhy Join CBRE?\n\nWork with the world's leading real estate services firm.\nDevelop your career in a mission‑critical engineering environment.\nBe part of an experienced, supportive and values‑driven team.\nCompetitive benefits and development opportunities
