OVERVIEW:
SILTT is searching for a dynamic and highly motivated Network Operations Center (NOC) Network Technician. This position is an entry-to-intermediate level operations role responsible for continuous network monitoring, alert triage, and first-line incident response within a 24x7x365 Network Operations Center as Tier I support. This position ensures proactive detection and initial troubleshooting of events affecting network and service performance. Working closely with Level II/Level III technicians and Incident Managers, the Tier I Technician executes escalation protocols, documents incident details, and supports restoration efforts to maintain SLA compliance and customer satisfaction. This role provides an ideal foundation for advancement into higher technical and operational leadership positions within the NOC organization. A DAY IN THE LIFE:
In this role, you will support a high-impact Network Operations Center that forms the backbone of enterprise service delivery. This role provides the opportunity to support NOC best practices and shape a world-class operations culture that scales while maintaining customer trust and operational excellence. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Monitoring and Alert Management:
- Monitor network, system, and application alerts using enterprise NMS and ITSM tools (e.g., SolarWinds, LogicMonitor, ServiceNow).
- Validate, correlate, and prioritize alarms to identify true events requiring action.
- Perform initial triage to isolate fault domains (device, circuit, or application).
- Acknowledge, log, and categorize incidents per defined ITIL and SLA workflows.
2. Incident Handling and Escalation:
- Create and update incident tickets accurately and promptly within SLA timelines.
- Execute predefined troubleshooting steps or scripts for recurring alerts.
- Escalate incidents to Level II/III technicians or vendors when issues exceed standard resolution scope.
- Communicate incident status and handover details clearly during shift transitions.
3. Operational Support and Maintenance:
- Support scheduled maintenance by monitoring change windows and identifying post-change anomalies.
- Assist in validation testing following upgrades or configuration adjustments.
- Participate in network testing, inventory audits, and patching activities as directed.
4. Documentation and Knowledge Management:
- Maintain accurate runbook updates and contribute to troubleshooting documentation.
- Report recurring alert patterns, fals positives, and opportunities for tool optimization.
- Assist in maintaining asset and circuit inventory accuracy within CMDB systems.
5. Training and Team Collaboration:
- Participate in onboarding and cross-training programs for technical skills development.
- Collaborate with other NOC teams (Facilities, Security, Change, Incident) to ensure integrated operations.
- Adhere to all NOC policies for security, access control, and data handling.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates or Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Networking, or related field .
- BICSI certified Installer 1 or 2 (INST1, INSTC, INSTF) or Technician (TECH) , other BICSI or equivalent certifications will be considered.
- 0-4 years of experience in network monitoring, help desk, or IT operations environment.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs).
- Familiarity with monitoring platforms (SolarWinds, LogicMonitor, PRTG, Nagios) and ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Remedy, Jira).
- Strong communication, attention to detail, and documentation skills.
- Certifications: CompTIA Network + ; CCENT, ITIL v4 Foundation desired.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays in a rotating 24x7 schedule.

WORK LOCATION:
The work associated with this role is expected to be performed on-site at our San Diego Area location, though some travel may be required for periodic support as needed.
