Procurement Manager

Job Description

Houston, TX (On-Site)

$160,000 - $180,000 + performance-based bonus

A Houston-based electrical contractor is scaling a dedicated manufacturing division focused on power distribution, panels, switchgear, and engineered skids for hyperscale and mission-critical data center clients.

I’m seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to help build and lead procurement operations during this rapid growth phase.

This is not a greenfield concept. The business already operates an 80,000 sq ft manufacturing facility and is currently delivering a new 200,000 sq ft facility in Houston. Once fully operational, the manufacturing organization will support 100+ employees across engineering, estimating, procurement, and production.

This role will be central to establishing a scalable, standardized, repeatable procurement model suitable for high-volume hyperscale manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead procurement strategy for electrical components, materials, and equipment supporting manufacturing operations

• Establish supplier relationships aligned with hyperscale data center standards (panels, switchgear, busway, breakers, enclosures, etc.)

• Develop and manage sourcing strategies for long-lead and critical-path materials

• Negotiate pricing, contracts, lead times, and service-level agreements with manufacturers and vendors

• Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Estimating, and Operations teams to support production schedules

• Implement procurement processes that support standardized, repeatable builds at scale

• Manage inventory strategy, material flow, and supply chain risk for high-volume production

• Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cost, lead time, and supply chain variability

• Build and grow a procurement function as the manufacturing arm scales

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience in procurement or supply chain leadership within electrical manufacturing or construction

• Strong knowledge of power distribution equipment, switchgear, panels, and mission-critical infrastructure

• Experience supporting manufacturing environments ( over purely project-based procurement)

• Background working with hyperscale or data center clients is highly desirable

• Ability to manage vendor relationships in a high-demand, schedule-driven environment

• Strong negotiation, planning, and cross-functional communication skills

• Comfortable building processes and systems in a fast-scaling organization

The Opportunity:

• Leadership role within a rapidly scaling manufacturing operation

• Direct exposure to hyperscale data center programs.

• Influence over procurement strategy, vendor selection, and process design

• Long-term growth into senior supply chain or operations leadership

• Backed by a financially strong electrical contractor with secured demand
