Job Description
Position Summary:
The Procurement Manager - Capital Equipment is responsible for sourcing and procuring capital equipment to support design, engineering and construction projects for data center footprint. This role involves vendor selection, contract negotiation, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality equipment to meet project deadlines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement for large scale capital projects, vendor management, and an understanding of the needs of large-scale engineering and construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
· Collaborate with capital projects stakeholders to align strategies for capital equipment to support engineering and construction projects.
· Manage requisitions and purchase orders supporting the procurement of large-scale equipment for capital projects.
· Perform vendor management activities ensuring vendors are aligned with expectations and are meeting expectations and contract SLAs.
· Negotiate complex contracts along with managing contract lifecycle ensuring contracts remain active as needed in support of projects and services
· Manage procure-to-pay process ensuring requisition and purchase orders are processed and approved in alignment with internal SLAs
· Manage procurement schedules to align with project timelines and mitigate risks.
· Collaborate with finance and accounting to support invoicing and invoice resolution activities related to vendors
· Track and monitor supplier delivery performance, addressing any issues or delays.
· Be willing to support relevant procurement-related activities ensuring the success of the procurement team.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, engineering, or a related field.
· 5-7 years of experience in capital procurement, preferably within data center construction or engineering industries.
· Proficiency in procurement and project management software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite, particularly excel.
· Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
· Proficient in procurement software and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite).
· Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
