About the Role
The Estimator will develop detailed and accurate cost estimates for Tate’s modular containment systems, structural ceilings, and liquid cooling product lines. This role requires strong technical knowledge, the ability to interpret construction drawings, and a collaborative approach when working with internal teams, clients, and GC partners. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction or manufacturing estimating—preferably within mission-critical environments.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for modular containment systems, structural ceiling systems, and other data center infrastructure solutions from concept through final pricing.
- Review architectural, mechanical, and electrical drawings to identify scope requirements and potential risks.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Sales, Operations, and Procurement to obtain accurate material, labor, and supplier pricing.
- Develop bid proposals, RFP responses, and value engineering options.
- Maintain up-to-date pricing databases, cost benchmarks, and estimating tools.
- Conduct quantity takeoffs and labor hour evaluations using Tate standards.
- Coordinate clarifications, requests for information (RFIs), and technical questions with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support project handoff meetings to ensure smooth transitions from estimating to project execution.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance estimating accuracy and efficiency.
Additional Expectations
- Demonstrate a proactive approach to identifying cost risks and proposing solutions early in the estimating process.
- Manage multiple estimates simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Exercise sound judgment when interpreting incomplete design information.
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary pricing, supplier agreements, and client information.
- Support preconstruction meetings and client presentations as needed.
- Contributes to standardization of estimating processes across product lines.
- Adapt to evolving product offerings and continuous innovation within mission-critical environments.
- Travel occasionally to project sites, manufacturing facilities, or client meetings as required
- Remain compliant with the Code of Conduct and Policies which includes the Kingspan Group Compliance Policy.
- Ensure that all duties related to product compliance are adhered to in accordance with the Product Compliance Policy, Laws, Regulations, and market demands.
- Responsible for all tasks to achieve compliance goals and demands of the Compliance Management System.
- Must raise concerns related to the Compliance Management System to their supervisor, manager, or any member of the Leadership Team, or through the confidential whistle blower service.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field .
- 3–5 years of estimating experience in construction, manufacturing, modular systems, or data centers.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications across architectural and MEP disciplines.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in takeoff and estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Excel, Procore Estimating, or similar tools).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail with a strong sense of accountability and follow-through.
- Certifications such as AACE, RICS, or PMP are a plus.
