Project Executive - Ground-Up Construction (HVAC, Process Piping & Plumbing) - Nashville, TN

Gryphon Oakwood is partnering with a leading commercial and industrial mechanical contractor to identify a Project Executive to lead the successful delivery of large-scale ground-up construction projects throughout the Nashville market.

This leadership role will provide executive oversight for complex HVAC, process piping, and plumbing projects across high-growth sectors including Data Centers, Pharmaceutical & Life Sciences, Manufacturing, and Higher Education. The Project Executive will be responsible for project performance, client relationships, team leadership, risk management, and overall financial success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide executive leadership for multiple large-scale mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Oversee project teams to ensure safety, quality, schedule, and budget objectives are achieved.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with owners, general contractors, design partners, and key stakeholders.
  • Lead project strategy, staffing, resource planning, and risk management efforts.
  • Monitor project financial performance, including forecasting, cost control, productivity, and profitability.
  • Support contract negotiations, change management, and dispute resolution when necessary.
  • Mentor and develop Project Managers and operational staff.
  • Collaborate with preconstruction, operations, and executive leadership teams to support project pursuits and company growth.
  • Champion a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field .
  • 10+ years of experience managing large-scale commercial or industrial construction projects.
  • Proven experience overseeing HVAC, process piping, plumbing, and mechanical systems projects.
  • Demonstrated success managing project teams, client relationships, and financial performance.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, project controls, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
  • Experience leading complex ground-up construction projects from inception through completion.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
