Construction Safety Manager
Location: Ohio - Columbus (Plain City, Dublin, Hilliard - all projects within a 10-mile radius)
Duration: 6+ Months (Start: 3/30)
Type: 1099 Contractor
Position Details
Hourly Rate: $52.50/hr
Per Diem: None
Completion Bonus: $150/month
Pay Frequency: Weekly
Schedule: 40 hours/week, 1st shift (Monday-Friday) with potential for overtime
Mileage: Company vehicle provided or mileage reimbursement at $0.72/mile (travel between job sites only)
Project Scope
The Construction Safety Manager will oversee safety operations for a mechanical contractor supporting multiple Amazon data center projects in the Columbus, Ohio area. All job sites are located within a 10-mile radius, requiring coordination across multiple active construction environments.
This role will focus heavily on mechanical scopes, including underground piping operations, and will require strong field presence and engagement with crews to ensure compliance and proactive hazard mitigation.
Qualifications (Required)

OSHA 510 Certification
-
5+ years of field construction safety experience
-
Strong mechanical construction background, specifically in underground piping

Fall Protection Training
-
Confined Space Training
-
CPR / First Aid / AED Certification
Preferred:

Data center construction experience (highly desirable)
Key Responsibilities

Conduct routine safety audits, site inspections, and risk assessments across multiple project sites

Lead incident investigations, document findings, and implement corrective actions

Deliver safety orientations and ongoing training for employees, subcontractors, and new hires

Partner with project management and field teams to identify and mitigate safety risks proactively

Maintain accurate safety documentation, including incident reports, inspections, and compliance records

Ensure adherence to OSHA regulations and site-specific safety requirements

Promote and reinforce a strong safety culture across all levels of the project team
