Location: South Bend, IN
Duration: 6+ Months (Start: 4/6)
Type: 1099 Contractor

Position Details

Hourly Rate: $49/HR (local) $45.50/hr (Non-local)
Per Diem: $125/Day on seven days if over 50 miles from the project site
Completion Bonus: $150/month
Pay Frequency: Weekly

Schedule: 70 hours, 1st shift, 7 10's

Project Scope

The Construction Safety Manager will oversee safety operations for a mechanical contractor supporting Amazon data centers. This role will focus heavily on mechanical scopes, including underground piping operations, and will require strong field presence and engagement with crews to ensure compliance and proactive hazard mitigation.

Qualifications (Required)

• OSHA 30 Certification

• 1+ years of field construction safety experience

• Fall Protection Training

• Confined Space Training

• CPR / First Aid / AED Certification

• Data center construction experience (highly desirable)

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine safety audits, site inspections, and risk assessments across multiple project sites

• Lead incident investigations, document findings, and implement corrective actions

• Deliver safety orientations and ongoing training for employees, subcontractors, and new hires

• Partner with project management and field teams to identify and mitigate safety risks proactively

• Maintain accurate safety documentation, including incident reports, inspections, and compliance records

• Ensure adherence to OSHA regulations and site-specific safety requirements

• Promote and reinforce a strong safety culture across all levels of the project team

Skills & Knowledge

Skills:

• Strong communication and public speaking abilities

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

• Excellent organizational and multitasking capabilities

• Ability to work both independently and within a team environment

• High level of professionalism and ability to handle confidential information

Knowledge:

• In-depth understanding of EHS principles and construction safety regulations

• Ability to effectively communicate and enforce safety standards and best practices

• Familiarity with mechanical construction safety, particularly underground piping operations
