Our client, a global leader in digital infrastructure, is seeking a highly capable Senior Mechanical Engineer to play a key role in the delivery of major data centre projects in Thailand. This position is central to ensuring that critical mechanical systems are designed, implemented, and commissioned to the highest standards, supporting the reliable operation of mission-critical facilities.
The Role
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for managing mechanical engineering activities across the full project lifecycle, from planning through to commissioning. This will include chilled water and air-cooled chiller plant systems as well as broader data centre mechanical infrastructure. The successful candidate will work closely with design teams, contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure technical compliance, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery, while serving as a trusted point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage project plans, including schedules, resources, and risk controls.
- Lead cross-functional teams of engineers, technicians, and subcontractors.
- Monitor progress, resolve technical issues, and update stakeholders regularly.
- Ensure all systems comply with design specifications and regulatory standards.
- Act as the primary contact for clients, regulators, and external partners.
- Drive process improvements and embed best practices in project delivery.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; Professional Engineer License advantageous.
- 5–7 years’ experience, ideally within data centres or large chiller plant projects.
- Strong background in EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) project delivery.
- Knowledge of DC technologies, chiller plant systems, QA/QC, commissioning, and EHS protocols.
- Proficiency with project management tools such as MS Project or Primavera.
- Experience with RFPs, tendering, and contract negotiation beneficial.
- Familiarity with prefabrication processes and long-lead equipment.
- Strong understanding of the full data centre project lifecycle.
